SHATIL and Tel Aviv University (TAU) are launching a new track for social activists within the M.A. program in sociology and anthropology. The program will provide staff, volunteers and others interested in social change organizations with the theoretical basis, research tools and practical experience to increase the effectiveness of their work. Fifty people attended an open house introducing the program last week and more than 300 people have downloaded information on the course from the SHATIL website. TAU’s Dr. Nisim Mizrachi, who moderated the open house, said that he and his colleagues believe this is the first program of its kind – not just in Israel, but in the world. The program will begin in the fall of 2007.
